I am doing a bit of market research for a project I am working on, so your views would be greatly appreciated.

If you had the opportunity to buy a recovery/breakdown insurance which included -

Recovery after a crash as standard as well as a conventional breakdown.

    Legal expenses insurance included

Recovery to aywhere in the UK

Recovered by a specialist motorcycle recovery company

Guarantee to be on site within 1 hour or financial compensation is paid

1, would you be interested, and 2, how much would you be prepared to pay?

It is still eary days and as I said it is just a bit of market research to get an idea of what the interest might be.

Mine has that added too at an extra cost of £90 for two bikes. However what it doesn't have is the guaranteed recovery in 1hr and I doubt very much many of the recovery companies specialise in motorbikes. If it was the case of two companies being on par in price but one being standard and one guaranteeing a specialist recovery unit then I would go choose the latter.

I also have the Carol Nash one. My most reliable one is called my wife she has been known to hitch up my trailer and rescue me and my bike

Mine is vehicle recovery opposed to specific motorcycle recovery. £200 with the AA for anything me or my wife drives or happens to be a passenger in... not sure a train or bus or plane would count though...

ebike insurance used to include specialist motorcycle recovery. I had to use it once and it was impressive. I exploded the pulley on the belt drive on my Harley and knew it wasn't going to be fixed at the side of the road so I settled down for a long wait. It took just over an hour but they called me back every 15 minutes to check if I was O.K and tell me how far away the rescue van was. When it arrived it had an electric lift and the bike was strapped down in minutes while I sat in the cab, watching my bike on a mini screen on the dashboard and wondering if I should eat the sandwiches and biscuits provided or just have coffee out of the flask. It was quite an experience and far posher then anything I could have imagined.
Me and the bike were delivered home safely, the bike was parked up for me and there was just one form to sign. Apparently not all bikes get the prestige service but I was lucky. It must be how the other half live.
I still have breakdown cover with my insurance but haven't used it so far so can't compare the service now I'm with another company.
