   It is a pain but as Roadie said, keep the tear off slip. Alternatively there are free bike parking spots: outside the Carlisle Pub, round the back of Debenhams on the sea front side, next to the Pelican Diner in the old town and one just round corner from Carlisle but would have to show it on a map.

   thanks for the reminder.... think I know most of those apart from the one round the corner from Carlisle,
   it's just annoying that the wrighting on the signs is so small you don't notice unless someone tells you , having parked for free for years ...
   like to see them issue tickets on a mayday though? how amusing would that be lol
