I've spoke to a few people on another forum who some are also on here as well. It's a 4 dayer at Almeria, £479 with Focused events.

Me, Neil, Paul and another mate Tony will be booking next month if anyone else fancies it? I would say it's a good 1st euro track day to do as it's cheap, the weather is usually warm and dry even in March, the track and hotel are good and the names that are going has all been before so if you have any questions then we could probably answer them.

    Who else fancies it?

Flights are around £100 with Easy jet and car hire is around €170.

You can get cheaper car hire deals but I always go with people that don't ask for deposits of €1000 Euros plus !

I wonder, will my little 400 cope? What do you think?
Last time I did Almeria was in 2005 on an R6 :D

Bugger, provisional dates are up for Bemsee next year. Typically the first round is at Brands on the 13th/14th, the weekend before. I assume the bikes will have to go at least a week before the actual trackday date? Now to decide - race or Spanish trackday

@lammyR6 I think you have to ask yourself which option will give you more.

Send an R6 to spain, leave the 400 to race, simple :think1:

Paul has the best idea !

The bikes are normally handed over a week before, sometimes earlier.

At the moment my thinking is as follows.

We can't fly into Murcia on the way out as there are no flights at all on the 17th of March. So unfortunately the next closest airport is Alicante. This means it'll take about 2 hours 30 minutes to get to the hotel. But we will have time to spare so it's no big deal.

On the way back however we can fly home from Murcia on the 22nd of March which is only 1 hour 30 minutes from the hotel. I've checked the prices for dropping hire cars off at different airports and the price difference was £10, you would spend that in fuel so I would say it's worth it.

The cheapest flight on the way out is £21 with ryanair. It takes off from Gatwick at 17:35 and lands at 21:05 at Alicante which is a bit late. Plus that is absolutely no add on's. Remember you have to pay extra to sit next to nicer people, not the ones that inject redex into their system !!!

My favoured option is £41 (no ad on's) with British airways. Taking off from Heathrow at 07:45 and landing in Alicante at 11:15

Remember you don't need to pay for checked in luggage. Just put enough in your hand luggage to get you through one night as you are normally able to access your bike etc on the day. If they won't let us in the track then you've packed enough to last anyway.

The cheapest (and only!) Flight back home from Murcia is £16 (no ad on's) with easyjet.

It takes off on the 22nd of March at 10:55 and lands in Gatwick at 12:50.

I always book my car hire through a company called Zest. They're like a comparison website but they offer guarantees like extra insurance, so that you don't have to buy the insurance that the car hire company offer you.

I've never had any problems with them. Yes they cost more but I've heard of so many horror stories about people being fleeced and having to go to court in foreign countries just to get their deposit back (which is normally €800+) that it's just not worth going for the cheapest option.

When you do your searches with this company they give you the option to not pay a security deposit, which i always tick.

My car hire will be £160 Plus fuel, but it's a Ford focus so it's a ok car and between a 3/4 of you it's not that much.

I hope you lot found this useful, I'm no guru but being a member I like to help where i can :)

At the moment I beleive there are 7 people going:

    Me (likes crashing on straights!)
    Neil (Shiny new R1)
    Tony (friend/lover of Neil)
    Brian (The lion)
    Paul (stars and stripes)
Leila (alcoholic, good nominee for driver!)
Thomas B (dumps oil on track!)

If that is the case then please be certain if you're going or not as we will have to arrange car hire and who is sharing with who etc. Best to arrange now so there's no surprises.

If these names are all going then I would suggest for now that car 1 is

    Neil, Tony, Paul and Jezza

    Car 2

    Me, Leila, Thomas B,

Personally I don't mind what car I'm in but I'll be driving one of the cars as I'm booking it ha ha ! I'm open to suggestions

You can also fly on the 17th from Stansted to Alicante with Ryanair for £40 (no add ons)
