    I always see videos of this happening, but i never actually get why, is it literally just the amount of power? because it didn't sound like he reved it loads or is it new tires or what :confused:

    There's a little action called 'scrubbing your tyres'. All new tyres are greasy as fook when you first ride them, but it looks like this guy forgot that. :D

    As Finchy says tyres need scrubbing in. Also many riders (i include myself) who upgrade to bigger machines dont instantly appreciate or realise how much extra power n torque they now have. Even at low revs its not hard to spin the rear and loose control if not very careful.

    Yeah seeing all them videos of people in canyons coming out of a sharp bend with there knee down (so must have good bike confidence and experience) and powering out of the turn and then high siding, is that just bad throttle control? like it not being smooth.. makes me slightly nervous of a bigger bike haha i'll only upgrade when im ready and my restriction is up though :)

    The most common high-side accident scenario is where the rider loses traction at the rear wheel (due to excessive throttle or over-braking on the rear wheel), the rear wheel loses grip and starts to skid, the riders natural reaction is to release the brake and/or shut the throttle, if this is done to quickly, the rear wheel immediately regains traction and the bike pivots on the rear whell and throws the rider over the top of the bike.

    (If you watch any bike racing you will see that a lot or riders will deliberatly use a "controlled" rear wheel skid when entering corners)

    hmm, i think it was unlucky....he wasn't revving or overly using power..maybe some dealer got abit overly liberal with the tyre blackener...?
