it says no parking , and yellow lines all around?
guess all those horrible noisy bikes in the middle of it look an eye sore, not to mention all those scary bikers standing around menacingly frightening all those ever so police national heritage members ?:rubhands::MC:

Cyclists can, there is also a triumph parked there everyday it seems during the week, tbh we only use it as a meet point, so with bikes anyhow.
I bet it is people complaining.

copied from a statement on fb made by Clive York ....
About parking issues outside Battle Abbey
Just had an interesting chat with Carol Harris Deputy Town Clerk. English Heritage own the piece of land outside the Abbey. Battle rent the land so EH have told Battle Town Council to do this. Battle Town Council are even having trouble over Benches on the green being the wrong kind. I have asked Carol to find out if English Heritage have secure free parking for bikes in their car park next to the Abbey.

Seem to remember another group lined up outside the abbey for a photograph and we're told to move on. Wonder if this comes from the same sad little individual

it's a mighty fine meeting place to meet , out of the way and causing no harm !

Is this just about vehicles parking without specific permission? I suppose the market stalls, choirs, brass bands etc all have relevant permissions to be there?

presumably it is just the motorcycles being as cars can't get on,
be interesting to watch it panning out I guess

Seeing as they had 8 - 10 Dutch bikers pull up there the other day, spend a bit of time photographing the Abbey and getting coffees and snacks, it seems to me they could be shooting themselves in the the foot if they don't provide anywhere for bikes.

I would not worry about it tbh, the few times we go there (Early) not stay long, and someone is always with the bikes.

it's just another one of those things to be aware of really,
bit like the motorcycle parking bay on hastings seafront I always thought was free,
only found out this year you have to pay to park there ,
small print on the sign says motorcycles pay the car hourly rate for the day

Just keep the little tear off slip in your wallet.

I now take a picture of it on my bike then tuck it right down near the screen or tank then keep tear off bit !
I mean..... come on how are we supposed to display a valid ticket ?
unless we carry an elastic band with us to secure said ' unnecessary ' ticket to handle bar ?

Just the tear off slip should be enough in the event of a dispute.
