I've really tried, as an adult, to get into Shakespeare, but I can't do it. There are classic books I like, but an awful lot that I can't stand. Probably doesn't help that I really don't like being told what I should think!

I used to read loads, but it was mostly philosophy stuff - Heidegger, Wittgenstein, Merleau-Ponty, Descartes, and Plato particularly. But that was then.

In recent times I've re-read some Shakespeare, and my favourite Marlowe (Richard III and Hero & Leander are serious sexy texts); also read 'How To Be A Woman' by Caitlin Moran which made me howl with laughter, and "The Case For Working With Your Hands" by Matthew Crawford which I'd definitely recommend to this forum because it sits very nicely with bike riding and fixing bikes and generally fixing stuff.

Other than that, I tend to hunt out physics stuff.

(Is there a dorky loser smiley? I'm comfortable with my dorkism.)

Reading you say, Feist & Pratchett would be my top ones.
Closely followed by Haynes, probably :p
    Vizard's tuning series.
The Long Ships, by Frans Gunnar Bengtsson is a cracking read too.

Don't often find the time though.

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a habit of reading the 'ingredients' etc on the aerosols that are next to the toilet when you're having a rather lengthy 'sit down'?

I like to use a 'certain section' of MAG's Road magazine for that. I've found the bit where one man talks about how he used to be a despatch rider and how we should all pay him to show us how to ride round corners is especially absorbent :).
