Back in about 1994 I was one of two founder members of The Honda Owners Club of Kent.
One of the ways I helped drive up membership, and it worked, was design and print a flyer, I then drove around random car pars and when I saw a bike I stuck a flyer on it.
Why don't we have calling cards advertising the site, I for one get around a fair bit, especially on the Fire Bike and I daresay it would be easy to slip a card to a few bikers!
Thoughts/Volunteer to produce if Paul/Paul and Co are up for it?:sun2:

I've seen flyers like this before, but much as it seems like a good idea it tends to just end up like a paper version of spam, and they end up getting chucked on the floor. :(

Funnily enough, I've been looking for an open topped business card pouch. My plan is to leave it on the bike with business cards in for the site, next to the "what the dickens is this all about" sheet for the bike.

    Same principle, less spam :D

Personaly i think word of mouth is the best means to recruit.. Fliers, etc always smack of commercialism to me.
Is the site about numbers or quality of members???
Nothing wrong in having our own secb cards that we can give to people we meet.. i'd suggest have an electronic 'generic'
template on here to which we can add our own name...

That's basicly where I was aiming it, would help keep a track of who reffered who aswell. Not sure the software allows a box for "referred by" but It's nice for a new member to have a point of contact, everyone likes their member having some contact!

I was going to run up business cards with the logo on one side and username on the back. Simples.

I`ll try to have a go tonight if I can depending on how creative I feel.

I`ll have a look & see if I can integrate a referral system into the forums.

Jim - Firstly we all know you get around a lot...no need to brag...

Business cards would be easy to do, lots of web based "creators" where we could just import the image in, I keep getting ads through my inbox for 500 off free business cards you just pay for postage, more than happy to order some if people have no objection.

I have got loads of new members for several Forum by shoving credit card size intro cards onto bike seats in Rye, Box and Bury Hill. A lot of bikers in groups don't wanna talk , but they will look at a website!!!

OK Knocked up a couple of samples. I used OpenOffice to create them as I`m not shelling out for MSOffice so I can`t guarantee what they look like once converted to a .DOC file. I do have the .ODT file for anyone with OpenOffice or those who want to install it from the link. Be aware its 145Mb download. Let me know what you think or have a play yourself & see what you come up with.

I think website will be plenty TBH. We really only need our names on in case I manage to set up a referral system. The ones I did don`t even have real names on them just website, logo, username & status (i.e. admin, mod or member)
