Unfortunately, John & Katie, who loaned us a field the other year for the summer BBQ have moved so they can't help us out this year.

Porta loos are cheap to hire for a day or two

Porta loos aren't a problem. I have a mate who works for a hire firm & he usually sorts me them out at a good rate assuming they're not already booked.

Camping, is up in the air as a bit of a pipe dream - may just pass out drunk in my garden....!

A ride on Sunday sounds good though

Bike ride, picnic and a swim could be fun Saturday. Maybe?
Early start might be a plan too. Not sure where though.

    Sounds, good!

Teapot island - can you swim there?
Bewl Water - not sure they allow swimming as it's so deep and cold

    http://wildswim.com/ shows places to swim

my two cents worth...not sure if free (think i'm free on Sun...), but Salt Water and putting on leathers again...hmmm not so pleasant...fresh water better....
Arundel - Past the Black Rabbit, maybe a suggestion as you can park relatively close to the river and also you could back track to the pub for food, or head up to Bury Hill...
Barcombe Mills you can swim too, but you need to walk a little bit...
