As Lisa said above, 'Small', but perfectly shaped, tonight, we were. Well, the ladies were, anyway. Not sure about Tom, Mikey and me... But Leila, Lisa and Rosie certainly fit that bill. I confess that I have just broken the rule we all agreed upon at the start of the evening: that a man must not, dare not comment upon the relative physical size or proportion of any female personage within hearing or especially smacking distance.

It's a long time since I had a chance once again to check out the Tiger Prawns; I guess I'd give them 6/10 tonight. They have gone on a slimming course, some of them got lost on the way to my plate and the batter was ...different somehow. But I was hungry and so I pronounce them the very finest prawns I've eaten ...since the last time. The steak and Guinness pie wasn't 'arf bad, served as it was with plenty of boiled spuds and hot, still crisp veggies. Yum .

I then had to struggle to persuade the ladeez to indulge in some pudding. Honestly, the bar lady clearly thought I was certifiably Weird, since I asked for some apple pie (with a piece of cheese to give it some body) and chocolate fudge cake for afters. All very conventional thus far. But perhaps she was confused by the simultaneous request for Syrup pudding (which Tom made disappear right speedily) and a Chocolate tart for Mikey. I guess she thought me a right little piggy... She didn't know that Leila and Lisa were going to help me with the cake. All of this calorific glory was of the highest comparative quality, and the cleaned plates collected at the end bore witness to that. Not a bad pint of Harveys as well

I really enjoyed this evening's company, food and natter. Thank you everybody!

 

Glad everyone had a good time this evening. I had intended to be there but I didn't finish in Harlow until later than expected.
