They do an led indicator option :) but Hanna has a different style of indicator.

You can see on the electrical tape where the resistor got hot and melted against it - which makes me think the resistor has blown?

The indicators were made specifically for this bike. They are made to order by Watsen Design who are well regarded, so I would not expect them to have used the wrong resistor. For note I've got them on both the front and back of the bike.

I would have expected a resistor with a heat sink, but then perhaps m/c indicators use lower wattage bulbs compared to cars, you could test the resistor with a multimeter if you have one. :)

They're all the same, 12v 5watt as standard (bar the usual odd exceptions posibly including the S1000R).

Resistor with heat sink is the way forward though, from the pic it looks like the heatshrink has melted from the outside possibly laying against the resistor. The wire itself isn't damaged is it? Can't see clearly.

Given they were made to order, it's possible that Watsen aren't completely familiar with the BMW and it's novel wiring.
If they're flashing too fast only with the engine on then the resistors aren't resisting enough.

May need to take it to BMW dealer to have the bike plugged in & reset. As I've said. There a many different signals running through these sames wires. Only BMW will know which signal will tell which peripheral component what to do. If the wrong signal get to these components then............

hard to guage the size from the pic but that looks like a 1W 33 ohm resistor... are the indicators bulb or led's?

il have a nose in the workshop tomorow pretty sure ive got some 5w power resistors kicking around will check the values..
