Blimey - that blew the cobwebs away. Thanks, chaps. Half a dozen of us in the end: Uckfield to Northiam (Mega's Cave) to be welcomed by the Lancastrian equivalent of a bloke in a smoking jacket, but of whom we can forgive anything, because he very kindly produced teas and coffees plus (when asked for sugar) Mystery Powder. Two of us had silly grins by the next stop, so I guess the powder was pretty good stuff. Didn't try it myself, but I might next time. I do believe someone else is going to post up a picture of the smoking jacket for posterity...

Sadly Mega didn't come with us (clearly still a bit under the weather :snz:) and with Russell's quote of the day ringing in our ears ("Looks are important, appearances wise"), we headed for the Oasis cafe instead of Folkestone. They've obviously had a spate of Chew and Run bikers in there, because we were asked to pay for our comestibles before they were served. Not a problem - and my bacon sandwich was almost as enjoyable as watching the look on Brett's face as he downed the last morsel of lemon tart positively swamped in cream. (Lo-cal version - Not)!

The general plan was to meander home from there via Rye and I am wondering if I got that wrong, because I found myself riding solo pretty soon. Maybe it was something I said..! I'm so glad folks managed to get out today - I'm going to change my status from the usual 'Overworked' to something more appropriate. It were grand!

Oops - I forgot to mention MouseMatt's appearance while we supped Mega's tea and coffee: he arrived in his car and disappeared round the back of the house - his continued presence confirmed by occasional shrieks from the disabled / disabling bike alarm. Nice to see you Matt, although we'd have preferred you and Alan to join us! Hope the electrickery and strange noises are sorted soon.

Sorry I couldn't make it guys, but still great to see you for a brew. Had no joy with Matt's alarm , so it's going to Laguna , Ashford this week to have the bloody thing removed and then hopefully we can work out what's wrong with the engine!!!

Cheers guys, great to be out today....very enjoyable ride and lunch in the sun. Richard, you were supposed to turn right at the end of Camber Road and ride back towards Tunbridge Wells with me and Neil via Brenzett, Appledore etc :)
