    Guys,

Has anyone had any dealings with Powerhouse Caliper rebuild service?

They are based in Sheffield and it would require me sending off all three R6 calipers so thought I would see if anyone from here has used them or can recommend anyone else nearer?

After 10 years all weather riding the R6 capilers need deep cleaning and new seals etc...I have been watching youtube and feel as though I could do it (or at least give it a go) but I'm struggling for time at the moment so might just send them off.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers
    Neil

£39 per caliper..not cheap but they guarantee they'll be like new calipers after.

they bike mechanics and racers who won the No Budget Cup
they sort mine, Stars and JimG bikes among others
they will do what you want them to do if you want to waste money or they will do what is needed, (sometimes 2 different things)

My bike(s) too. Can't speak too highly of them. The dual price structure described by Garya is exactly right too.

Uhmmmm....besides seals....don't think there are any other parts....except pistons...seals are only a few quid...?
I've taken my calipers apart n cleaned them...I was amazed at the lack of 'bits' I expected to fall out.....don't be tempted to use pliers or anything like that on the pistons....mine popped out with the aid of a foot pump...:)

bugger is when u put them back On and making sure the air bubbles are all out as they sometimes get trapped in the chambers....

Lots of bleeding and shaking n tapping the calipers....:)

I stripped my calipers and cleaned them up fitting new seals and braided lines. Was quite easy with the help of various forums. I find it rewarding stripping my own bike and getting to know it inside out.

Neil stop whinging and get stuck into em yaself its another job you can tick off your list of having learn't to do ( i know youll be disappointed if you haven't done them yourself. and to be fair if you do a bit at a time before you know it theyll be back on the bike and done.....time? .....time is only a means of measuring how long we remain as living breathing beings in this world, its what you do/achieve while your here that counts.

Absolutely Pete..Utopia is a lovely place...Unfortunately the fact that it took me 6 weeks to complete a change to two full sets of wheel bearing, i'm already changing the brake lines, oil, filters etc and the bikes in what looks like a million pieces and I want to do a track day in march..i'm more of a realist...try to do most things myself with a helping hand along the way
