no worries I find dry ptfe lets my chain rust way to quickly in the winter months but do prefer the fact it doesn't fling as much crap hence still use it in the summer.

i used to use dry lube as i liked the way it allowed the gold chain to become part of the bikes looks ( especially when i was heavily into polished parts on the bikes i had) but as stated, i hated the way it allowed the chain to rust in the winter plus i always doubted if it was there as ......I couldn't see it ( proffi lube ) so now i have a bottle of scott oiler oil which i apply directly to the chain at regular intervals ( probably every other ride) and as this coincides with my strict policy of washing the bike every other ride the fling isn't really a problem, in return i have seen longer chain life, smoother and quieter running gear ( believe it or not ). i hate waxes with a passion as i think they look downright awful when applied. a chain should be either dark and shiney or shiney and coloured as per its original colour ...not looking like its just walked out of a bukake scene in a porn film.

A grim but yet inciteful delve into the mind of carnage there, but you make for a good point bud.
