It's that time of year again. Absolutely loved the Revival last year and also figured out that you don't necessarily need to pay the cost of entry. Unless you want to specifically see the planes or race car/bike collections then nearly all of the vehicles are in the car park outside. Plus a lot of the stalls and a screen showing the racing.

If the weather is good at the weekend I reckon it's a cracking day out.

Shame I can't do it this year but I reckon next year will get a vintage outfit and go join in the fun again!

I went on Friday. All my senses are so overloaded that I'm a little lost for words. Imagine leaning on a (low) fence as a Spitfire and a Hurricane fly 100 ft overhead as they come in to land at the same time as 2 GT40 s roar past on the track 100 ft away from you horizontally! Spent a while with James Hayden and Mike Edwards with his Matchless bikes (#121) before practise for the Sheene Memorial Trophy race. Very friendly, decent chaps. Lovely bikes too, prepared (by Mike) looking as though they'd just emerged from the factory. Beautiful machinery. It's a fabulous and long day (racing ends at 7:40pm) having opened the gates at 07:30 in the morning!

As it happens, I just found out that James won at Goodwood Revival today - there's a great short film of the photo finish on the Goodwood Revival website. Must have been that last minute advice I gave him [ahem].
