The man I used to use for this (Mojo at Canterbury) has retired. Anyone know of someone who can make repairs, in this case putting in a new fabric stretch panel in the inner knee of Jordan's star-trooper suit? I've found some online but thought there'd be someone more local, the nearest being Aldershot.

Cost at Cissbury's is expected to be around £60, which for a shredded elasticated/fabric calf panel & replacement zip, we thought was ok.

Thats excellent! I took mine to a dry cleaners once as they do *leather repairs* and before the stitching could be done they wanted me to have them cleaned first and that was £60!!!

That's good to hear, he was nice sorta bloke. I went to his house once in Hannington Without but do you have his no? No doubt there'll be another :( time. Cissbury made an excellent job but did up the cost to £120 as they said it had to be sent away to a kevlar specialist.

Ohhh... ta for that. I need to get some work done on my leathers (alterations, not crash repair!) and just cannot be arsed doing it myself!

For anyone near Tunbridge Wells I can recommend Retoucherie (London Road) who I've just used for a new fly zipper fitted on my leathers, they charged £18 but when I went to pick them up they gave me back £11 as they were able to fix them by just fitting a new 'zippy bit' (technical term!), I wouldn't have known if it was a new zipper or not.

Anyone nearer to Swanley than Canterbury needing leather repairs, zips & alterations could try Wested Leather Co., The Barn, Little Wested House, Wested Lane, Swanley. BR8 8EF. 01322 660654. I left them my Dainese jeans for a seam restitching for £15. Everything is done on site & they've been there for 30 yrs so maybe they're ok. She said they do quite a bit of work on bike leathers.

Got them back today & the jobs a good 'un. On their shelves are all sorts of cruiser type leather panniers/rolls which might be worth a look if you're that way inclined.
